SPATIAL OFFERINGS OF CULTURAL LAYERING

INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR RESIDENCE IN ANKARA, TURKEY

Located in the embassy district looking over into the expansive landscape of the city of Ankara, the Indonesian Ambassador Residence showcases a sensible balance between Indonesian design and Turkish cultural references. 

The interior design renovation allows for formal reception, guest lounges, formal dining, meeting rooms and series of upgraded bedrooms to serve both functional use and cultural and political relationship building continue to flourish between the two countries. Special carving pieces were designed for contemporary use highlighting the diverse Indonesia's regions amidst fluid indoor and outdoor spaces in this well acquainted formal residence.

Establish Series of Cultural Layerings

Highlighting the long-standing political and cultural relationship between the two countries, this two-story residence were rearranged to showcase the weaving and the layering of cultural expressions both cultures are very proud of.

Redefine Cultural Opulent

Incorporating artwork and the pairing between furniture designs of the both cultures, series of formal spaces were reformulated to redefine opulent spaces with cultural sensitivity.
