INDONESIAN CONSULATE RESIDENCE IN LOS ANGELES

Located in the highly regarded Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, the consulate residence represents both tropical Indonesia and coastal heritage of Los Angeles architecture. The backyard home and garden provides the occupant with flexible spaces for living and for hosting diverse events. Overlay of Indonesian design senses converted into stenciled batik patterned court to convertible outdoor kitchen and decorated coffee corner. The result is both welcoming and stylish.

Create Rich Texture and Elevator Platform

The backyard was organized into three region; expansive dining platform with outdoor kitchen, green opening, and patterned court.

Redefine Cultural Opulent

Incorporating stenciled batik pattern onto the court allows for the host to bring overflow activity into all areas or separate them when needed. 

The backyard home and garden becomes a destination yet private within the large residence.
